The best project ideas are allowed to enter the next phase. Various methods are used to further illuminate the idea.

The goal is to investigate the technical and economic feasibility.

Depending on the complexity, the economic and technical investigation can be separated into two phases. In doing so, development teams should be burdened as little as possible in order to disrupt ongoing projects as little as possible.

WIP Limit.

In this phase, we only work on as many project ideas as we can execute in the foreseeable future. More would be a waste.

Sometimes you have to look closer.

If a high effort is necessary to evaluate the feasibility or if high risks have to be limited, a pre-project (often Advanced Development) is started, which is integrated into the portfolio as well as all other project ideas and is only carried out if the organization can really take up this additional project.

With the result of the pre-project we re-evaluate the project proposal.

The final sprint.

Now we know that we want and can and which project is the coolest. After that comes the final spurt for the best projects, the “Excellent Preperation”.
